We offer two distinct programs for camps & childcare centers: 1) Didgeridoo Down Under (variety show for all ages) 2) Aussie Funk Jam (workshop for ages 8 and up)
Didgeridoo Down Under Show
Didgeridoo Down Under is a high-energy, Australia-themed show that combines music, culture, science, puppetry, comedy, character building and audience movement / participation. The didgeridoo, usually a hollow tree trunk, has been played by Aboriginal Australians for at least 1,500 years, and is known for its otherworldly sound. But DDU is much more than music. It’s interactive, educational, motivational and super fun … for all ages!
During the show, we play an assortment of exotic didgeridoos, demonstrating various upbeat rhythms and funky, danceable beats. We also use a multitude of props – including a vocabulary list, a globe, motivational signs, artifacts, artwork and puppets – to deliver educational lessons and empowering messages.
A typical show for camps and childcare sites offers a little extra entertainment – more puppetry, comedy, dancing – and slightly less core curriculum than a school presentation. And we are happy to tweak the program according to a specific site’s needs and requests.
Aussie Funk Jam Workshop Another favorite kids’ program is our Aussie Funk Jam, in which we teach how to play the didgeridoo with our beginner instruments. The Aussie Funk Jam is hands-on, cool, funky and unique – ideal for teens and tweens, but OK for ages 8 and up. It’s a perfect complement to the DDU show!
